Kamala's Meme War

A Look at the Attacks on Vance.

It is exceedingly difficult to teach an old dog new tricks, especially so if the same millennials are at the switch. Bluntly, Kamala and her supporters, hereafter known as k-hive (a ridiculous appropriation of Beyoncé fans self selected title as the bey hive), are hyper-focused on wining the twitter meme war at all costs. Apparently Donald Trump is beyond their capacity to fire at. This may be a function of how weak JD Vance appears to be. His politics are wonky, not particularly in lined with historical republican values of deregulation, free markets, and winnowing away at the bureaucratic overlords. Easy shots to make in my book, however this is not the case. They are mostly glomming onto falsehoods, mischaracterizations, and down right lies about the man, his character, and his family.

Chronologically the first line of attack was him being “anti-immigration” and in favor of some strange ethno-nationalistic christian autocracy or something but he’s married to a non-christian child of immigrants. Theological issues aside, I may not be a smart man, but it is painfully easy in my mind to disentangle the issues of stemming the tide of illegal boarder crossers and immigration policy broadly. The next line of attack on that front comes from another downright selective edit of something he said in a Megyn Kelly interview from earlier this week. K-hive ambassadors decided to re-arrange excerpts from the interview to make it seem like he said that he loved her, even though she is not white, and her only value to him is her qualities as a mother. Misogyny and racism double punch. Brilliant play folks, pack it up you’re doing so, so good.

Next is the allegation that JD Vance made sweet, sweet love to a couch. The claim comes from a tweet saying that JD Vance wrote about this incident in his memoir Hillbilly Elegy on pages 179-181. This is plainly not true. However the left has ran far and away with this farce and has no indication of stopping. Then there was a post throwing up red flags about Vance visiting a booth selling historical memorabilia from past wars and at that booth was a framed swastika. On its face, this is true. However this is a common fixture at many such WWII era memorabilia hawkers. Bad optics for sure, but by no means any real indication of him being a closeted groyper.

Next in line are people still attempting to link the Trump/Vance ticket to Project 2025. A much denied and disavowed policy wishlist started by the Heritage Foundation. The latest “evidence” proffered by the midwits running the official KamalaHQ twitter account is an interview JD Vance had in 2021 with Ben Domenech and Christopher Bedford of The Federalist before he was even a candidate for Senate. Even some of the commenters on that KHQ post asked for the specific clip indicating his support for P2025.

The hoaxes go on, but the larger question remains. Why lie profusely about Vance when there are plethora of incredible attacks available? Likely because they can. Regardless of the truth of these claims, they seem to be sticky. Vance is already a historically unpopular choice for vice president. Many don’t really care for the man and who among his detractors are going to stand up for him? Especially if that could lead to four more years of Literally Hitler. Hell, even the creator of Godwin’s Law, Mike Godwin has said the comparison is apt. Much less scores of anchors, talking heads, the current president, presidential candidates, and even at one point Vance himself. So the desire to defend the honor of an unseemly man is at an all-time low.

One would think the party that aims to “protect democracy” and combat deep and cheap fakes, reduce the volume of disinformation, and restore integrity to the American political system would take the highroad, but all of those claims are farcical. From Russia-gate to Vance the couch-o-sexual the mud has been slinging and it won’t stop any time soon.

Incidentally, this method of attack is more of the same for Kamala and follows in yet another popular gen z meme. All Kamala know is eat hot chip, charge they phone, and lie. This perhaps, is the most brat thing Kamala has ever done.
